#CareerJournal 3:I started 2023 by learning from a Metaverse course provided by my college Panimalar Institute Of Technology in collaboration with Panimalar Engineering College -CSE Department. We were taught by professionals from Munjal Birmingham City University Centre of Innovation and EntrepreneurshipAs an overly extrovert, my team decided to appoint me as the leader. Thanks to my team members Prisha C, Jaya Varsha R, Keerthi Devendiran, Jiivitha Arul kumar, Santhoshini Sri K.G and Praveena Suresh, we were able to collaborate and create a Mars Training VR Simulation (M4RS = Mars for us).The overall program involved with both learning and project creation, enabling us to create an application within a time bound. Personally, it was exciting and stressful, but I am glad as a leader I was able to push my team through our tough times. During this time, I was also able to make many friends who also pushed me beyond my limits to understand the Metaverse Realm. So thank you Suriya P and Anandh S.PThis has to be the first ever achievement in my journey, as we won 5th place, and we had an amazing opportunity to Intern in MMBeauty.Some of the activities we had done in our internship over the year:• Developed a VR application for the Munjal Family Life Story. • Created a WebXR application for a beauty products website and a Meet Room for multiple beauticians to communicate.#Internship #Leader #GirlTeam #Metaverse #VR #AR #WebXR #Competition

Exciting News: Completing My XR Lab Internship Journey! Thrilled to share that I've successfully wrapped up my immersive internship at XR Lab, a dynamic hub of innovation in Enschede.During these six enriching months, I delved deep into Unreal Engine, mastering its tools to bring virtual experiences to life. From tackling FPS challenges to optimizing lighting for mood, each project was a canvas for honing my technical skills. I became much more confident in the optimization process, cleaning up the meshes, working on set dressing, that drastically helped the performance!Learning about Unreal Insights, a deep dive into the Unreal Lighting Systems, and Anti-Aliasing was so interesting and useful for my understanding of the engine.The project wasn't just about set dressing; it was storytelling through design. Every adjustment in lighting and post-processing became a stroke in the painting of immersive experiences. I created a pipeline of light optimization in Unreal Engine scenes by constructing a performance testing with different variables, such as Engine version, Lighting Method (Lumen, SSGI, or Baked), and different combinations.As well as that, I developed new skills in motion capture. I worked with both MVN Awinda and MVN Link, experimenting with it. I also, for the first time, worked with retargeting of metahumans and mocaps, implemented the animations and cleaned them up! It is a wonderful experience, that I am glad I acquired.Grateful for the supportive culture at XR Lab—a stage where I performed and evolved.
