North Texas fans of bigtime gaming are in for a treat next month, when two major esports championships come to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. Nearly 150 top players from 35 countries will be vying for a combined total of more than $3 million in prizes.
The Fortnite Championship Series Global Championship 2024 and the Rocket League World Championship 2024 final lists of qualified competitors have officially been set. They include Texas-based players Cooper (Fortnite), Clix (Fortnite), ApparentlyJack (Rocket League), and Hockser (Rocket League).

Fortnite Battle Royale Global Championship 2024
The championship for Fortnite Battle Royale will take place September 7-8 and will feature 50 of the top Fortnite competitive duos from around the globe, competing for a share of the $2,002,000 prize pool.
Per BLAST, Texas-based players at the championship will include:
Cooper: Raised in Round Rock, Cooper is the reigning global champion after his victory in Denmark last year. He will be looking to defend his trophy in Fort Worth in front of a home crowd for his team Dignitas, alongside his fellow teammate from Khanada.
Clix: Moving to Dallas from Connecticut, Clix will be looking to compete on behalf of his team XSET, which he also is a part owner. In addition to being a leading competitor, Clix doubles as a content creator and is the most watched English Fortnite streamer in the world.
Rocket League World Championship 2024
This year’s championship for Rocket League, described as a high-powered hybrid of arcade-style soccer and vehicular mayhem, runs September 10-15. The final three days of the competition will be held in front of a live audience September 13-15 at Dickies Arena. The culmination of the RLCS 2024 season, the Rocket League World Championship will feature the 16 best international teams and a $1,165,000 prize pool.

ApparentlyJack: Making the move from the UK to Dallas to further his competitive career, fans will watch as he strives to become the first Brit to win on U.S. soil since 2019.
Hockser: Competing since 2018, Hockser, who splits his time between Dallas and Pittsburgh, is one of the more experienced players in the RLCS circuit and now finds himself on one of North America’s best teams, Spacestation Gaming.
Countries represented in the competitions are Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bosnia, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, Morocco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UAE, Ukraine, United States, Yemen.
Partnering with the Fort Worth Sports Commission, Live Nation, and C3 Presents
BLAST said it has teamed up with global live entertainment company Live Nation, the Fort Worth Sports Commission, and C3 Presents, a Texas-based event promoters, to help support and promote the Fortnite Battle Royale and Rocket League championship events.
